A wide variety of fiberglass products

Fiberglass is an extremely fine inorganic non-metallic material.glass fibreIt is a natural inorganic non-metallic ore, such as garnet, pyrophyllite, kaolin, quartz sand, limestone, etc. The diameter of high-end inorganic fibers ranges from a few micrometers to over 20 micrometers, equivalent to 1/20 to 1/5 of a hair.

There are many types of fiberglass that are suitable for different scenarios. Glass fibers can be divided into different types based on their composition, such as alkali free, medium alkali, high alkali, high strength, boron free, and alkali free, with different properties. They are used in different fields according to their performance characteristics. For example, glass fibers with alkali metal oxide content less than 0.8% areAlkali free glass fiberIt has good electrical insulation and mechanical properties, but poor acid resistance, so it is widely used in scenarios that require electrical insulation or fiberglass; Content 11.9% -16.4% belongs to medium alkali glass fiber, with strong acid resistance but poor electrical performance, and lower mechanical strength than alkali free glass fiber. Enhanced asphalt roofing materials with lower mechanical strength requirements used abroad; High strength glass fiber contains a certain amount of zirconia, which has the characteristics of high tensile strength, low yield, and high cost. Therefore, it is mainly used in military products; In addition, high alkali fibers have poor performance and have been basically eliminated.

Glass fiber composite material

Glass fiber can also be combined with other materials to make glass fiber composite materials, among which fiberglass is the main product. Glass fiber can be synthesized with resin to make glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), or added with asphalt to make glass fiber reinforced asphalt. Due to the wide variety of composite materials, there is currently no clear classification for glass fiber composite materials. According to data from the Forward Industry Research Institute, fiberglass reinforced plastic accounts for approximately 75% of the market for fiberglass composite materials and products, holding a dominant position. Therefore, taking fiberglass reinforced plastic as an example, we will analyze the performance advantages of fiberglass composite materials.

Fiberglass is a substitute material with excellent comprehensive performance. Fiberglass reinforced plastic is a composite material based on synthetic resin and glass fiber,Glass fiber products(Pad, cloth, tape, etc.) as a reinforcing material. Fiberglass is named after its glass like appearance and steel like tensile strength. Compared with the most common steel in construction, the density of steel is 7.85 × 103kg/m3, and the density of fiberglass is 1.9 × 103kg/m3, which is lighter than steel and has much higher strength and corrosion resistance than steel; Compared with aluminum alloy, the thermal conductivity of aluminum alloy is 203.5W/m ℃, and the thermal conductivity of FRP is 0.3W/m ℃. Fiberglass has better insulation performance, and its service life is 50 years, which is twice that of aluminum alloy. Due to its excellent comprehensive performance, fiberglass is widely used as a substitute for traditional materials in industries such as construction, railway, aerospace, yacht mooring, etc.

Glass fiber industry chain

The upstream raw materials of glass fiber are easily available, and the downstream applications are more extensive. The main raw materials for the production of glass fiber are mineral and chemical materials, including pyrophyllite, kaolin, quartz sand, limestone, etc. These are minerals with large reserves in China, and the difficulty of obtaining them is relatively high; The main energy sources used are electricity and natural gas; Downstream applications are relatively extensive, mainly including building materials, transportation, electronic appliances, industrial equipment, energy and environmental protection, and other fields.

glass fibreremarket demand

From a macro perspective, it is expected that the ratio of the growth rate of glass fiber demand to GDP growth in China will remain at a relatively high level in the short term. It is expected that the consumption of glass fiber in China will be 5.34 million tons and 6 million tons in 2022/23, with an increase of 13.2% and 12.5% respectively.

Considering the widespread application of glass fiber, domestic macroeconomic indicators still have guiding significance in determining domestic demand for glass fiber. Given that: 1) the per capita annual consumption of fiberglass is much lower than that of developed countries; 2) The penetration rate of glass fiber in major glass fiber application fields such as construction and automobiles is much lower than that of developed countries. As a new material, under policy promotion, we believe that the proportion of glass fiber demand growth rate to GDP growth rate in China will remain at a high level in the short term, and is expected to gradually approach mature markets in the medium to long term.

It is expected that the ratio of the growth rate of glass fiber demand to GDP growth in China will remain at a relatively high level in the short term. Under the neutral scenario assumption, it is expected that the ratio of glass fiber demand growth rate to GDP growth rate in 2022/23 will be 2.4 and 2.4, respectively, corresponding to glass fiber. The growth rates of fiber demand are 13.2% and 12.5% respectively, and the consumption of glass fiber is 5.34 million tons and 6 million tons respectively.
